In this episode you will hear from a fearless young Australian engineer, Clay Semchyshyn, who was one of three Australians contracted by Transfield as part of an Australian aid program to rebuild six bridges along Route, Five, one of Cambodia’s notorious highways that linked Phnom Penh to Battambang. Clay lived on the bridges with his crew and provided their own protection against the bandits and the Khmer Rouge.
